Get the standing water out

Once power is sorted and the source is stopped, move the bulk water as fast as your gear allows. The tool depends on the depth.

  1. A few inches — a wet/dry shop vacuum handles it. Empty it well away from the foundation so the water doesn’t drain straight back toward the house. Plug it into a GFCI outlet clear of the water.
